Good news Friday |

The story begins, as it often does for us, with a call to the Force Control Room. A teenage girl is missing and we believe she is vulnerable and high-risk. Thanks to Incident Support Officer Lucy, she was swiftly found safe and well in another country. Initial enquiries suggested the girl may have travelled outside the UK, presenting significant challenges in locating her and coordinating an effective international response within a limited timeframe. With information suggesting that the missing girl was in a European city, Lucy took immediate and proactive steps to identify where the girl might be staying. Using her analytical skills and initiative, Lucy trawled through maps of the city, train networks, and hostel listings to identify possible sites matching the available intelligence. Her methodical approach and critical thinking enabled her to narrow down a likely location. Recognising the urgency, Lucy contacted policing counterparts directly, providing them with precise intelligence and location details. As a result of her prompt and accurate communication, a police response unit was deployed from the local force to the identified area, where they successfully located the missing girl, safe and well. Lucy demonstrated exceptional professionalism, tenacity, and intelligence-led initiative. Her actions directly led to the safe recovery of the missing teenager and exemplified the highest standards of dedication and operational excellence. This is just one example of our staff members going above and beyond and we wanted to share with you because there is much negative publicity so it's all the more important that we recognise the the amazing work our staff do, day in, day out. | ||
