A 39-year-old woman has been sentenced to 12 weeks in custody after being found guilty of multiple shop theft and Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) breaches at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 16 March. She was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £154.
Lauren Cooper, of no fixed address, was found guilty of three counts of shop theft having stolen various grocery items from Marks & Spencer and Home Bargains in Skegness. In doing so she had also breached the conditions of a CBO which had been made by Lincolnshire Magistrates’ Court on 4 February 2025. The CBO had prohibited her from entering all retail premises, with the exception of two, in the area of Skegness.
Skegness Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Matt Neal said: “The concerns of our community are being heard and acted upon. Our continued, proactive monitoring of CBOs ensures that they have real impact - helping us prevent further harm, protect the public, and maintain safe, welcoming neighbourhoods. This ongoing vigilance compounds how seriously we take our role in tackling anti‑social behaviour and supporting our communities.
“CBOs are designed not only to limit harmful behaviour but to also promote positive change. These measures help tackle the underlying causes of offending and support individuals to move away from harmful lifestyles.”
