Man returned to prison after fleeing onto train tracks |

|
A man has been returned to prison after he was recalled for breaching his licence conditions. The trains at Gainsborough had to be stopped yesterday, Wednesday 15 April, after Jonathan Lowther fled onto the tracks trying to escape from police. The 40-year-old man ran from Morton Gardens, jumped a 7-foot fence before ending up on the train tracks near the Belt Road bridge on the outskirts of the town. Lowther climbed up a structure at the side of the tracks and refused to climb down. Several police resources were deployed including a drone which gave commanders a bird’s eye view of events. Over an hour later, the incident was resolved with Lowther being arrested for being unlawfully at large and trespassing on the train line. Lowther has been returned to prison where he will continue to serve his sentence for theft offences. TO VIEW THE IMAGE PLEASE FOLLOW THIS LINK TO OUR WEBSITE. THIS IS FOR LEGAL REASONS.
