Ongoing investigation into Boston area fatal collision

We are appealing for more information after a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and car in the Boston area back in 2024.

New information has come to light as part of a lengthy investigation into the incident, which took place between Pilley’s Lane and Rawsons Lane, Horncastle Road on 29 April at 2.50pm.

A 62-year-old motorbike rider tragically lost his life in the collision and investigators have been pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to get answers for his family ever since.

As part of these enquiries a new vehicle has been drawn to their attention – a yellow transit van that a newly found witness says was in the area just before the incident took place.

Investigators are asking the driver of this vehicle or anyone who may have seen it on the day to get in touch.

We know this took place a long time ago, however we are determined to pursue every lead available to us to gather more information.

The 74-year-old driver of the car, David Smith of Horbling Lane, Stickney, will appear in court for trial this July charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
