Incident at Swanholme Lakes, Lincoln |
||
|
We were called to a concern for welfare at Swanholme Lakes, Doddington Road, Lincoln, this evening (Thursday 9 July) at 5.48pm. Officers attended along with Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service and have been dealing with a teenage boy who had got into difficulty in the water. The boy was taken to hospital following the incident and his family joined him there. Enquiries into the exact circumstances involved are ongoing. We will provide a further update as soon as we are able. We take this opportunity to reiterate our water safety messaging: While many people are looking for ways to cool down in the heat, we also want to remind everyone of the dangers of swimming in lakes and open water. Conditions beneath the surface can be unpredictable and potentially life-threatening. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself and your family with the essential water safety advice from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, which can be found at the top of our Facebook page.
