Emergency services are on scene in North Hykeham where a collision between a blue Ford Transit van and a man riding a push bike happened shortly before 5.40pm this evening, Thursday 22 October 26. The collision happened at the junction of Newark Road and St Aidens Road. The rider of the push bike was cycling towards Lincoln in the cycle lane. The driver of the blue Ford Transit had driven from the Asda roundabout direction and was turning right into St Aidens Road. The driver of the blue Ford Transit van has failed to stop at the scene, and we are appealing for information about that vehicle. The rider of the push bike, a man in his 60s, has been seriously injured and has been taken to hospital. As part of our intensive investigation, we are asking anyone who was travelling in the area of The Forum on Newark Road, up to the junction of St Aidens Road, down into the estate and anyone who was travelling on Station Road out onto Whisby Road and Doddington Road, to check any dashcam or headcam footage they may have recorded. Please check from 5.25pm until 6pm. If you are the driver of this van, you should get in touch with the Investigating Officer; the contact details are below. We would like to hear from anyone who has captured the blue Ford Transit van which has no writing or distinguishing features. We would also like to hear from anyone who has any information that will help our inquiries or anyone who witnessed the collision or believes they saw the blue Ford van travelling to or away from the collision. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 or in an emergency please call 999. Please refer to incident 343 of 22 October 26. | ||
