Alert message sent 03/02/2020 15:00:00

Information sent on behalf of Lincolnshire Police

Good afternoon

This is Police Support Volunteer Christina Ivett at Horncastle NPT.

I would like to make you aware of two attempted break ins and a burglary which have taken place in our area over the last 10 days.

On the 25 January, an attempted break in took place at an outbuilding in Tennyson Gardens, when someone tried to prise open a window.  The owners had overhead noise on the evening before which may have been linked to the crime.  (Incident Number 167 of the 25th January)

On the 25 January, a burglary was reported which took place at an outhouse in the Horncastle area, when £1000 worth of equipment, mostly power tools, were taken from an unlocked outhouse. It is believed the burglary took place between 20-25 January. (Incident 306 of the 25th January)

On 2 February, an attempted burglary took place in Tuphome at business premises.  The alarm was triggered at 2.57 am and entry was made through iron panels, though there was nothing showing on CCTV (Incident number 130 of 2 February)

If you have any information relating to these crimes please ring Crime Stoppers 0800 555 111 quoting the Incident number and the date.

It might be worth checking security on any outbuildings, making sure that doors and windows are secured with locks and any alarm systems are fully working.  There is information and advice about property security on Lincolnshire Police website under crime prevention.

Thank you.
Christina Ivett
